  1. Let's see, $15 a mo. into $250-80... Sounds like you could pay for one in a year and a half. We bought a new Toshiba for $270 (shipped) off E-Bay two years ago. We LOVE it! It's like our cable modem, $3.50 a month to rent it... I bought mine for $80 and got a $50 rebate, 5-6 years ago. They kinda pay for themselves compared to renting.
  2. "NO" and "In the near future", kicking and screaming........ I don't see a single thing Vista offers me to replace XP. My machine will run it fine, but why spend the $$$? I'm with TT, don't need security nags to keep my surfing safe. We are well locked down in this house. Now, because SB is a geek, he will sooner than later get Vista to play with to prepare for the barrage of new users problems. Security? Wanna bet it'll be just a messed up as XP was.
  3. Enough with these projects already! Grass is knee high, we have a new dishwasher and A/C to install, need to clean up a steel picnic table frame for it's NEW wood and it's time to buy and get the veggie garden planted and mulched. *SIGH* Oh, and get the deck awning back up. All I wanna do is "deck veg" with a cold adult beverage and throw a few steaks on the grill.
  4. Left the house on a "power shopping" trip yesterday. Regular was $3.39. Four hours later it was down to $3.19. I cannot understand how it can change 20 cents in a few hours, or days for that matter. I still feel sand in the Vaseline.
  5. We are so lucky around here. The city does leaf pick-ups all fall and stores them. After turning them under a few times, they allow residents to load up for their yards. We also get all the wood chips we need just for the shoveling and hauling. Sure makes mowing easier, and the yard nicer with mulch beds around all the trees and bushes.

    Check It Out

Hiya, Chappy! Great to see you back! Thanx for the info.. Glad you had some time to dig around in Vista to help us folks.
  10. All of our flowers are in and thriving. Lawn is looking good and the veggie garden has been turned and is warming in the sun. We'll plant that in a couple of weeks.
  11. Mmmm, we did a 5 lb rolled sirloin tip roast on the grill last night. That, after a day "yardening". Got the Hummingbird flower garden planted, the morning glories and moon flowers in their pots by the south windows for shade and the new and improved bird feeder pole done.
  12. Well, my PC cleanup is done, new 160G HD and a full reload. Funny how many programs I had that I never used...We have a new 250 that's in a home network server. So much space compared to my old 30G. Yeewww, and you shoulda seen the inside of my machine! I wonder how bad it would have been if I didn't have "panty hose" filters on all the intakes? Tomorrow it's gonna be in the 70's and it's back out working on the yard. (and grilling)
  13. Hostas transplant anytime, very well. Just chop up the large plants and move... I dig the whole plant up with a shovel and chop it into pieces with the shovel or a large knife. Be sure to amend the soil a bit with peat or compost for moisture retention.
  14. Yeah, and mom and dad will get tired of being asked everytime and end up giving the password. You know it only takes one bad D/L.
  15. Gee, Mike. Dell did that to me too. Shipped XP with only 126.... The BSD's made this new user scared to death. After installing a 512 stick, I've yet to have a lockup. (years) I'll admit the BSD's did get me into security and protecting my machine long before I learned much about using it.
  16. When I worked at Stryker instruments we used flux VERY sparingly. Then cleaned the joints carefully. Flux is an acid and will corrode.
  17. Good job, M. It's a girl thing that she "played angry". Best of luck, love and happiness through the next 35.
  18. For those with cell phones only....you are not affected. Pass it on to anyone with a land line. All you have to do is put your number into the search line and hit...I feel lucky. Our new home number does not come up yet, since we JUST moved...but it is a scary thing. This came right up and showed where I lived. I removed myself from the list after hitting the "map" button. It's crazy how they give your personal information out so freely on the Internet. Telephone Number Search Google has implemented a new feature which enables you to type a telephone number into the searc

  20. Thanx, Jeff. I've been missing him around. (we all go back to TTV chat, remember?)
  21. New stuff being recalled. Natural Balance
  22. Well, we grilled twice already..... :-) The ground has been too wet to do much in the yard except poo patrol. The flower seeds are sprouted and transplanted, ready to go into the ground. Pulled down the window film, washed windows and changed furnace filter. Need to give the van a good spring clean too.
  23. Can you say landmines??
