  1. Firstly update Spybots S&D and also your AntiVirus software And do a scan in Safe mode. To get to Safe Mode Turn on your computer Just before Windows starts (usually about after 3 secs, after boot up), repeatively press F8 function key Select Safe Mode Log into your user account Run Spybots S&D from there You may also want to run a full AntiVirus too. Return to Normal mode once complete (via Restarting)
  2. Here: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_clear_search.htm Clear XP's Search History Not sure if a Vista one exists or not. You should also run CCleaner regularly, to clean out all temp files
  3. Thanks martymas, and to all others who replied. Actually your post prompted me to come back and check the forum again. So it had a dual effect ! So that's good. effect: Any result of another action or circumstance Affective computing: an area of research in computer science aiming to simulate emotional processes No, I was right with the word "effect" but possibly in an affective way
  4. Thank-you too So I take it, that it's resolved (somewhat) now ? Also I never receive any email notifications of posts here at BestTechie (might have to investigate that) I just pop in from time to time and check.
  5. This was all regarding post #2 And it led on from there ! I tend to download all drivers and update, but this was about your onboard Video drivers, probably not required now anyway. But at least you know your computer support page, and you've learnt a bit. The issue of lag I addressed too So not much else I can say. Good Luck
  6. Oh this one: Yes I posted that link above. So have you updated all drivers
  7. Thanks I'm not exactly sure which one it is still May be this: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=pr...mp;maincat_no=1 But I'd prefer you go here: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloadindex And use the Click Here button Basically I'm trying to get to your support page If the above link finds all your Drivers and support info, please update them. You can also paste the link here (that the autodetection finds) Please reply back once done Edit: I'm pretty sure it's this driver support page http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=do...amp;prod_no=265 .
  8. Please download Everest Free Edition This will show you what your motherboard Manufacture and model is. If you have a proprietory Computer (ie Hp; Dell; ...) just supply the model number and name. Lagging:- unacceptable response times which become visible to the end-user. Lagging has two major components; Network data vs. Game system environment. The items below are classified using these colors. There are some basic things you can do to minimize the impact of lag: * Reduce your screen resolution: This does not resolve true internet lag issues, but higher screen resolutions are more taxing
  9. You forgot to mention Motherboard manufacturer and model number. Does your Motherboard have onboard graphics ? If so, download the drivers for the onboard graphics first Enable onboard graphics in CMOS Install the onboard graphics drivers Then install the ATI graphics drivers Reply back
  10. Thanks Besttechie, I knew that if I kept posting I'd finally get to the top Again it's just a time to time visit, where I'll probably just annoy all current posts lol (I mean support!) I'll catch up later.
  11. Scanning a drive as Slave will not pick up registry issues. But I must give two points of view on this topic 1. It is best to always advise users to use an updated AntiVirus and a good firewall I say this, because other reading this thread may say, "well besttechie.net said I don't need it" Which may cause some backlash here from disgruntled members In saying that, as any Malware specialist is aware, no one Antivirus or spyware protection will help all, with the exception of hitmanpro.com (not to be confused with the old hitmanpro known spyware program) But hitmanpro.com, actually also uses m
  12. Wow what a big signature you have! sultan_emerr Thanks for your welcome to both of you I have decided to post reply in two other threads already Hope that's ok?
  13. In most cases re-installing a faulty application will fix specific program file issues Please go to C:\Program Files\Free Download Manager And remove the entire folder (as long as you have uninstalled first from add/remove programs) You may want to download CCleaner to remove any/all temporary files (especially downloaded temp files from "Free Download Manager") Once your computer is clean of all junk files and restarted You can then re-install "Free Download Manager" to test again IEFDM2.DLL is related to Free Download Manager. http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/ Please reply back, after doin

    Hi Everyone

Hi everyone  I just signed up to BestTechie, had to just because of the site name. lol Anyway, I'm from TechSpot.com and thought I'd have a look around, and whilst searching Google I found this page: http://andymanchesta.com/Links.html and thought, hmm BestTechie maybe I'll join that ! Anyway, I'm a Guru (labelled) at TS so I was wondering if I could offer any PC technical support here with my replies to your members ? I'll check back from time to time to see how things are going here. KimslanD
