  1. You have an intel card, try the ipw2100 package. instructions
  2. It seems Adobe has made an APIavailable to allow adttional features be written by the community. Not FOSS but, an interesting step in my opinion.
  3. So far I havent had any problems with 9, although flash loads considerabley slower for me in opera then firefox. But I can finally play the adult swim flash games. Also, adobe also released flex2 for linux.
  4. Thumbnail doesn't expand when clicked (opera and firefox). I like the simple design, easy to navigate and on the eyes.
  5. What confuses me is if the whole issue is based on a trademarked logo wouldn't gnome and kde be an issue as well?
  6. Probably, I tend to use a terminal to install and forget there are semi-decent gui tools to do it aswell. @Mychal007 There may be an error in your sources.list can you post it?
  7. From that error it could be just a typo, you dont have a space between mozilla-mplayer and w32codecs. Can you post your sources.list (/etc/apt/sources.list)?
  8. Yes I did. and it's still not working correctly. Can you link to some specific pages? The audio I tried worked fine, but I didn't navigate the site much. I suspect the content you want is written in flash 9 which wont be out for linux until early 2007 (as of now), bu at least it is coming.
  9. sudo apt-get install mozilla-mplayer w32codecs
  10. Looks good though the design may be a bit busy for some, and I personaly think the ctrl-d to bookmark is alittle pretentious. But most importantly it is spelt A-F-F-I-L-I-A-T-E; honestly it is hard to take a site serious, especially any kind of "profesional" site if there are mis-spelled words.
  11. Try installing mozilla-mplayer and w32codecs.
  12. Maybe try a different compiler/ide like sharpdevelop or envelop.
  13. Is the function defined twice in your code or is that a copy paste error? A quick google confirms that error is due to subroutines of the same name.
  14. I dont have any control over it, the site ends the login session after a period of inactivity (I'll assume around 30 seconds). So, I either remember every value for every field (there are alot) or do it programmaticaly, I also preffer the later as it would allow my girlfriend to do the billing herself and me to do other things.
  15. I want to write an application to stream line medicaid billing for my girlfriend. The billing is done via a secure website, I assume I could rely on a browser auto-completion but I dont consider this optimal. The site login expires early considering the number of fields required, this leads to lost info and starting over (extremely frustrating). I would like the app to store all fields that dont change (probably in a binary) and allow offline completing of fields that do change (ie: dates and times to be billed for) then connect and send the data. What Im looking for is, for one, validat
  16. I believe banshee can access an itunes share with the banshee-daap plugin, Ive heard amarok-1.4.3 can also see them.
  17. Install succeeds in 0.9.20 but I get a C runtime error (r6034 an application made an attempt to load a C runtime library incorectly). So, ide say there is atleast a slight gleam of hope for the future for myspace users.
  18. IIRC in Gnome you right click the taskbar select add applet and choose the clock.
  19. You should definately add some reference links, and maybe your criteria of what makes PSU 'A' a member of list 'B'. I would also change the references to RAIDs to just hard drives, a user can have a dozen drives none of which are members of an array. Most important is qualifying the information, Im not trying to be overly critical but you cant expect a user to accapt what you say as fact without some backup.
  20. If its just a disk dont waste the money, I can send you whatever disk you want no charge. And before you install look for an install how-to specific to your model machine.
  21. I gave installing it (TagWorldChat) with wine and it installed (with a few errors that didn't appear fatal) though I needed to install a windows version of firefox so I could install flash 9 (FWIW a pretty good workaround for flash9 untill the linux version is released). But upon running the program in a terminal a sign in windows opens but does'nt work and the terminal fills with "fixme:" messages. So, for this app you may be stuck untill wine implements the needed functions. For anyone interested here is the terminal output: naraku@naraku-laptop:~$ wine .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/TagWorld
  22. In a terminal type sudo modprobe quickcam then post output of dmesg |tail
  23. Linux has full read and limited write on NTFS. Full write if you jump through some hoops. Writing works much better with ntfs3g.
  24. if you are running Gnome Desktop->preferences->screen resolution yeah i know that 0-o thats not what i meant. Everything is pretty much the right size besides the Desktop icons and the web browser. Text is huge on Firefox lol Thats the text like "File, Edit, View, Ect..." not the pages (duh) Try Desktop>Preferences>Fonts. In regards to the system locking up, if it happens again try pressing ctrl + alt + backspace to kill the X server. My general rule of thumb is if the key combo works (kills the server) the freeze was an application problem else its a driver/kernel problem.
