  1. mikex, Sounds like it may be time to call your ISP to confirm your POP3 setttings.
  2. JSKY, When you uninstalled Firefox did you delete your profile from C:\Documents and Settings\xxxx\Application Data\Mozilla? If you did not that corrupted data is still there until you delete the old profile.

  5. tg1911, Speaking of screen shots, I have a current screen shot of my PROGRAM FILES, ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS, SERVICES, TASK MANAGER PROCESSES, etc. If any thing changes I can compare it to my screen shot.
  6. tg1911, I concur with your tip. My main folder is named DOWNLOADS and my sub-folders where I keep my installers are named BROWSERS, FIREWALLS, SECURITY,etc. I take screen shots of all the settings for each application I install so I can reconstruct everything if necessary. Great tip.

  11. In the FF address box type about:config When the page loads type 'scroll' (without the ") in the filter box at the top. There are two settings with should both read true general.autoscroll general.smoothScroll If either is not true, right-click the line and select toggle. You should probably restart FF. Good luck
  12. bryanernest, I am an exclusive FF user ( I have Internet Explorer blocked with my firewall). Have you heard of pipeling to cause Firefox to run faster. If you type about:config in the FF address bar you will have access to the settings.   13. Thanks Sultan. Disabling the 'Workstation' service solved a desktop loading problem that plagued me for over a year.

  17. Today, on Google News, I saw that a windows update has been issued for a JPEG security flaw. How can I get the patch and avoid SP2 for now. When I go to Windows Update it wants me to turn on automatic updates. If I turn it on will SP2 automatically download or will I get to pick and choose the updates? Thanks.

  19. Just for kicks, I have 26 items in my 'Send To'. Almost ready for a second column of 'Send To's.
  20. Also, You can export your Firefox bookmarks by going to Manage Bookmarks > File >Export. From there you can browse to any folder on your harddrive to store a backup copy in case FF crashes or something.
