Former HTC Employee Confirms One M9 Leaks

History at HTC keeps repeating itself, as the forthcoming One M9 flagship phone has been subject to a torrent of leaks, just as the One M8 had been about a year ago. As it happens, after yesterday’s leak of three promotional videos showing off the M9’s features, a former HTC product manager weighed in via Twitter to confirm that – yup – everything we’ve seen thus far is the real deal.

Leigh Momii tacitly let the world know that what we’ve seen so far is what we’ll get on March 1:

There you go: the cat is out of the bag, and we know more or less what we’re going to see when the One M9 gets its official debut. However, as I’ve reasoned before, there’s definitely more to this story than meets the eye. HTC wants to up the ante, and the promotional materials and leaks we’ve seen thus far have been good – but not particularly revolutionary. That’s why I have the feeling that the company may also roll out its new wearable and tout its features along with the One M9. HTC’s Jeff Gordon wants us to believe there’s more to this than we’ve seen just yet as well:

That’s not a ton to go on, but it’s enough for me. HTC has been pretty good about producing great products in the past year. I’ve got confidence that we’re only scratching the surface in terms of what HTC will be showing off at MWC next week.

That said, there’s definitely a hole that needs plugging inside of HTC. Leaks have been coming out of that place pretty reliably for the last year or so, and they show no sign of stopping. If nothing else, it seems as though HTC might want to try and leak some bad information to try and pinpoint the source of all this inside information.

Until that happens, however, don’t be surprised if HTC keeps leaking like a sieve. At least it’s got people excited, right?
