Destiny Diary, Issue 11: Xur Gets The Last Word; Weekly Heroic and Nightfall Strike Info

Xur’s back in the Destiny Tower for the next two days, and you may be very, very interested in the exotic weapon he’s selling this week.

Where is Xur? What’s He Selling?

Xur can be found in the basement lounge of the Tower Hangar this week, likely enjoying the music from the new jukebox (which arrived in the 1.1.2 patch).

What’s he have on sale? The Last Word exotic hand cannon is the major item this week. Xur doesn’t sell this one a whole lot. It’ll cost you 23 Strange Coins, and if you have some currency to spare, my advice is BUY — especially if you play Crucible. I am killed by this gun an awful lot, and wasted no time pulling the trigger (no pun intended) on this purchase. It isn’t as good as Thorn when playing PvE, but it’s great in PvP.

As far as exotic armor goes, Xur has the Helm of Inmost Light for the Titans, Radiant Dance Machines for the Hunters, and Voidfang Vestments for the Warlocks. The must buys in this group: Helm of Inmost Light and Voidfang Vestments. Each item in this group will cost you 13 Strange Coins.

As usual, Xur is also selling an Exotic Shard for 7 Strange Coins. And, again, Xur is selling a five-pack of Heavy Ammo Synthesis for 1 Strange Coin. Sort of amazing how all this Heavy Ammo Synth is popping up now the heavy ammo glitch is fixed, right?

Nightfall and Weekly Heroic Strikes

The Devil’s Lair strike is one of the quickest you can run from start to finish, and it’s this week’s Nightfall and Weekly Heroic Strike. Battle through the Cosmodrome, destroy a Fallen Walker, and defeat Sepiks Prime to earn the Nightfall buff and a mystery drop in the Nightfall, and up to 9 Strange Coins in the Weekly Heroic. Modifiers for the Nightfall are Arc Burn, Epic, Angry, and Lightswitch. The only modifier for the Weekly Heroic is Lightswitch.
