DEAL: Xbox One Assassin's Creed Bundle with Extra Controller, 1-Year Xbox Live Subscription for $349

Microsoft aggressively dropped the entry-level Xbox One down to $349 in November, promising the discount would stick around until Jan. 3. That fateful day will soon be upon us, but the good news is that you still have time to get the One at a discounted price.

And here’s even better news — NewEgg is offering an insane deal on the Assassin’s Creed bundle of the console, packing an extra controller and a 1-year Xbox Live subscription at no extra cost.

So let’s do the math on this Xbox One bundle. The console itself (before the holiday discount) used to cost $399. The discount brings that down to $349, saving you $50. Next, Assassin’s Creed Unity retails for $60, and its predecessor, Assassins’s Creed IV: Black Flag is valued at $40. There’s $100 of free stuff. A brand-new Xbox One controller goes for $60, and an Xbox Live subscription rings up at $60. Those two together add an additional $120 of freebies.

Compared to the bare-bones $399 Xbox One console that existed before November, buyers are getting a $50 discount and $220 of value. That’s a pretty good deal.

The NewEgg bundle is in stock right now, as I push the publish button for this article. But it’s not entirely clear if the deal will last until the Jan. 3 deadline for Microsoft’s $50 bundle discount. My suggestion to you, based on past deals I’ve seen fly off the digital shelves, is to hop on this package. I’m not sure we’ll get another with this much value for a while.
