Black Apple Macbook (2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB Ram, 160GB HDD)

So I just got a brand new Macbook this week. So far I’m loving it. It’s excellent. I was a bit worried when I ordered it to be honest as I’ve never really used a Mac before except for the crappy ones on at school. However, when I turned it on for the first time I was pleasantly surprised. Setting up my user account was a breeze, installing applications can not be any easier – I thought Windows installers were easy to follow this is even simpler because essentially all you have to do is download the file and click it, then drag it to the Applications folder. Also, I’m really liking Apple’s built-in applications such as Mail and Spotlight I’d have to say are my two favorites as of now. Spotlight for those who don’t know is Apple’s search program. It’s super fast and easy to access being in your tool bar on the top of your screen. As for mail, well that’s pretty self explanatory – it really has impressed me. I find it to be better than Outlook in certain aspects in terms of the way it handles mailboxes and such.

The Mac OS is very fast and responsive too, granted I have pretty good specs. I was also very pleased with how easy it was to setup on my network with all the Windows machines. I have been checking out a lot of software for the Mac and I’ve been happy with the selection – I didn’t realize how big that market was until recently. My favorite application for Mac (that’s Mac only) so far is a program called Coda which is essentially a web development application with a built in Text editor, CSS editor, FTP client, and Terminal! If you have a Mac and run a website(s) I highly recommend you check out this application.

I’ve been messing around with a ton of stuff so I’ll definitely post back with more of the applications I’ve been using and how I’m getting along with the Mac. Do you have any favorite Mac applications? If so, leave a comment and I’ll try them out if I haven’t already!
