Apple’s Next iOS Update Will Kill The Evasi0n Jailbreak

Late last week Apple released an update for iOS to developers, the latest beta update is iOS 6.1.3 beta 2, and it actually breaks the most recent jailbreak.  The latest jailbreak, known as Evasi0n was released earlier this month and quickly became the most downloaded jailbreak ever.  Now, according to one of Evasi0n’s creators who tested the patch over the weekend, David Wang, the update patches at least one of the five bugs that the jailbreak requires in order to install.

Petition Legalizing Unlocking Phones Goes to The White House

It’s official.  A White House petition to make unlocking cell phones legal has passed the key 100,000 signature mark, requiring the White House to issue an official response.

The petition was created by San Francisco resident Sina Khanifar after he received a cease and desist letter from Motorola in 2005 for selling software to unlock Motorola cell phones.  The letter said that he was in violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and could face up to five years in prison and half a million dollars in fines per [...]

iPhone Dev Team: Update Jailbroken iPhone 3GS To 3.1 OS

The iPhone Dev Team have just released a brand new update to their PwnageTool for Mac OS X (version 3.1.3) that allows you to jailbreak the 3.1 release of the iPhone software for iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 2G. The only downfall at the moment is you need to have previously jailbroken your iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 2G. So if your device is not currently jailbroken, you must continue to wait for another update by the Dev Team that will allow you to either re-jailbreak or jailbreak for the first time.
