Google to Use USB-C on Upcoming Android Phones

On Monday, Apple unveiled its newest MacBook, which has only one port: a USB-C port that users will employ for everything including charging the battery, to video output, to data transfer. A couple days later, Google revealed its newest Chromebook Pixel, which has two USB-C ports. And that same day, Google confirmed that we’re going to start seeing USB-C in a lot more devices very soon – specifically most, if not all forthcoming Android smartphones and tablets.

Google Unveils New Chromebook Pixel

There’s a new Chromium OS ultrabook in town, and it beats the heck out of the last one from two years ago. Google today announced a refresh for the Chromebook Pixel, its flagship laptop running its homegrown operating system. With upgrades in almost every way, the new Pixel costs a few hundred dollars less than its predecessor – a great sign for folks who want Chromebooks to take a bigger piece of the PC pie.

Don’t Waste Your Money On The Chromebook Pixel

By now you have undoubtedly heard that the Chromebook Pixel is real and on sale, that’s why I’m here to tell you to not waste your money on buying one of these computers by Google.  The Chromebook Pixel features a 12.85-inch touch-screen display, which is also high-res (2560 x 1700), is powered by an Intel i5 processor running at 1.8GHz, packs in 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, and has a 32 GB solid state drive for storage. Other notable features include a backlit keyboard and 1 TB of free Google Drive storage.
