Talking tech since 2003

One of my major gripes when I started using Office for iPad earlier this year was the fact that it didn’t provide easy access to my Dropbox folder, which is where I keep all of my important files. You could never save Word files to your Dropbox folder, and it was a major pain in the butt.  But a recent partnership between Microsoft and Dropbox has fixed this problem, according to a new post on AppleInsider today.

According to the post, now you can open files from your Dropbox folder into Word, and then save them back into your Dropbox folder from Word. Is this an earth-shattering change that will make your life better in every conceivable way? No – but it does make the iPad even more useful as a work tool, and it shows that Microsoft is learning how to play nice in an effort to make its products better.

Personally, I’m a fan of this kinder, gentler Microsoft, and I’m looking forward to trying Office on my Nexus 9.
