Talking tech since 2003

Back when the HTC-made Nexus 9 was nothing more than a rumor, specs and details leaked out onto the web about a classy keyboard case that would be made specifically for the Android tablet. But when Google announced the Nexus 9, the keyboard – codenamed “Workshop” – was nowhere to be found. Today, the case is available for purchase from the Google Play Store for $129.

Called the Nexus 9 Keyboard Folio, the case is made of black leather, and attaches to the Nexus 9 magnetically. From there, the keyboard itself pairs with the tablet via Bluetooth, and the product listing says that it can provide “up to 5 months of battery life on a single charge.” While it’s only restricted to two viewing angles, it seems like one of the best-looking keyboard cases you can get for a tablet right now. Considering it’s made by HTC itself specifically for the Nexus 9, it might very well justify its premium price tag.

HTC has been offering some pretty solid sales on its products the last few weeks, so it’s entirely possible that the Keyboard Folio will enjoy a discount before Christmas. It’s the kind of accessory that could transform the Nexus 9 from a really good tablet to an actual productivity machine.
