Talking tech since 2003

Wow — it feels like I’ve been writing about video games a lot lately, doesn’t it? I mentioned Steam’s Summer Sale the other day when talking about awesome digital deals, and this year’s sale has definitely lived up to that reputation. Unfortunately, it’s coming to a close tomorrow.

steam-logoBut that’s okay! If you’re just hearing about the Summer Sale for the first time, you still have the opportunity to get some of the best deals Steam has offered over the past ten days. The final day of the Summer Sale is typically an “encore” sale, where Steam re-lists the most popular deals from the sale and gives gamers once last chance to take advantage.

The most popular discounts this year aren’t from anything too recent; some of the most recent titles are from the end of 2013. But they’re still priced way better than you’ll find at retail, and even better than you’ll find on consoles like the Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

Some of the good deals you’ll find for the Summer Sale finale? State of Decay ($4.99), XCOM: Enemy Unknown ($8.49), Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition ($6.79), Terraria ($1.99), Tomb Raider ($4.99), The Walking Dead: Season 2 ($12.49), The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim ($4.99), Dishonored ($4.99), The Wolf Among Us ($8.49), Batman: Arkham Origins ($7.49), and Borderlands 2 ($4.99).

You’re also bound to find some other deals that were offered previously and are still going, like the new Wolfenstein at half off ($29.99) and Portal 2 at a pretty low price ($4.99). And there are regularly good deals on Steam throughout the year, so even if nothing tickles your fancy now, you might get lucky later on.
