Talking tech since 2003

Windows 8, Microsoft’s latest home and mobile operating system for desktops, laptops and tablets, has been out for nearly two years. And unlike Microsoft’s own Internet Explorer, web company Mozilla has still yet to release its native FireFox browser app for it.

The situation now continues to do the opposite of improve, as the company has once again delayed the app, this time until March 18, 2014. It was expected to arrive this month after previous delays since its announcement over one year ago, but has been pushed back due to the holiday break.

Of course, you still have options for getting your FireFix. You can still download the Firefox browser and pin it to the Start screen or your desktop, though it won’t run in Microsoft’s Metro-esque style like most native apps. You can also try downloading an inherently buggy nightly build of the app, but it’s not a great option for the faint of heart.

We’ll update you here if anything changes.
