Talking tech since 2003

Aereo announced that it will release its first Android app, available for download in the Google Play store, on October 22.  The company says that the app will be in a “public beta” at first, and that it will require Android 4.2 or higher.  To date, Aereo has only supported iOS, Apple TV (via AirPlay), major web browsers such as Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, and Safari, as well as Roku devices to play its broadcasted content.

One thing we noted in our Aereo review was that it could be benefited by a native app, so it’s nice to see an official Android app being developed, it would be even better if it had Chromecast support (no word on that yet).  On a similar note, I’d love to see a native iOS app as well.
